EMMON expands the world of ICON with 15-track remix album ICONMIXED, featuring Rhys Fulber, Agent Side Grinder, Kris Baha and more.

A year after ICON, Swedish electronic artist EMMON returns with ICONMIXED, a 15-track remix album that opens her songs to an international network of producers and musicians. Bringing together Rhys Fulber, SIIE, The Foreign Resort, Randolph & Mortimer, Agent Side Grinder, Kris Baha and more, the record explores how the same material can find different lives across electronic music and alternative club culture. EMMON explains:

- “There’s something truly magical about hearing my own music transformed through another artist’s creative mind and soul. My songs get to wear new clothes and reveal sides of themselves I never knew existed. Every remix feels like opening a present — never knowing exactly what’s inside, but always discovering something new. It’s such an incredible honour to have these amazing artists reinterpret my music and give it a new life through their own creative vision.”

The album opens with its focus track, Shades of Blue (Rhys Fulber Remix). Known for his work with Front Line Assembly and Delerium, Fulber brings a career spanning industrial electronics, atmospheric songwriting and contemporary club music to the collaboration. His contribution places EMMON’s music in conversation with an artist whose work connects several of the scenes represented throughout the album.

The previously released remixes have already demonstrated the project’s range. SIIE drew Speak to Me towards hypnotic techno and darkwave, while The Foreign Resort approached the same song through saturated guitars, live drums and shoegaze textures. Their contrasting versions set the tone for a record built around each collaborator’s individual approach.

That contrast continues through two interpretations of Relics. Agent Side Grinder take the track towards ’90s house, combining LinnDrum rhythms, eurodisco influences and acid basslines. Kris Baha pushes it into a heavier meeting of big beat and hard techno. The connection with Agent Side Grinder also reaches back to the original recording, which features vocals from the band’s Emanuel Åström. Following the recent Randolph & Mortimer remix of DARK, the full album introduces further interpretations from IDORU, DSTR, Bestial Mouths, Die Verletzt, .endmap, Beborn Beton, Zweite Jugend, Aux Animaux and XOTOX. Several songs appear more than once, allowing different artists to reveal contrasting possibilities within EMMON’s writing.

Following RECONMIXED in 2023, ICONMIXED continues EMMON’s interest in remixing as an exchange between artists. Her voice and songs provide the connection, while the arrangements move between dancefloor electronics, industrial experimentation and the atmosphere of post-punk.

ICONMIXED is released October 23 via Icons Creating Evil Art. The focus track is Shades of Blue (Rhys Fulber Remix).
