The Guilt unveil new single Naked on My Own – a hard electro-punk anthem that dives into the endless voyeurism and solitude of our hyperconnected age.
Malmö’s electro-punk riot duo The Guilt return with their ferocious new single Naked on My Own (NOMO), out September 4th, 2025 on Icons Creating Evil Art. It’s the second taste of their forthcoming album Naked Rat Dance, due January 2026.
Equal parts punk urgency and glitter-drenched synth fire, Naked on My Own is a hard electro-punk anthem that dives into the endless voyeurism and solitude of our hyperconnected age. “Mentally catching fire, physically all alone,” as The Guilt put it — this is a song about being naked with yourself: the loneliness and the love of it, the exposure and the secrecy.
“We often push topics we have strong opinions about,” the band says. “With NOMO it was more about presenting a mood, a human behaviour, that we find intriguing. Clearly we have no idea if it’s good or bad — and that’s the whole cocktail.”
Written without rules, the track grew out of a chorus that landed by accident: “No, it’s no one’s fault, naked on my own.” From there, The Guilt followed their own anarchic creative compass, throwing ideas in the air to see where they’d land.
The release is accompanied by an amazing new music video, directed by Johan Lundsten, which visually amplifies the song’s manic, glitter-streaked intensity.
Warning: the video contains heavy flickering lights and should not be watched by people who suffer from epilepsy.
“So many parts of human life revolve around belief structures — money, diets, democracy, monogamy, science — things that exist only because we believe they do. If something exists only through belief, is it real?”
Naked On My Own follows the success of the duo’s queer anthem Our Feline House (official Malmö Pride song 2025). With their third full-length Naked Rat Dance coming early 2026, The Guilt are setting the tone for a year of raw, sweaty, glitter-stained catharsis.
