Murdo Mitchell addresses his buried inner thoughts in ‘Lies’ out 18th November via Icons Creating Evil Art

After releasing his highly-praised EP ‘Stay Nocturnal’ with vibrant singles ‘Ghosts’ and ‘Jaded’ that garnered support from the likes of EarmilkWonderland and Ones To Watch, and fresh off the back of his latest track ‘Your Skin’, singer-songwriter Murdo Mitchell has returned with his catchy new single ‘Lies’.
‘Lies’ is a zippy, rhythm-driven track that highlights Mitchell’s need for addressing your own life choices as well as having to battle and live with your own inner thoughts. The string-heavy and steady drum laden single allows for Mitchell’s fast-paced vocals to shine through, creating a snappy, rapturous track.
Speaking about ‘Lies’, Murdo states: "Lies is about navigating your way through life & not always making the right choices but always having to live with the choices you make. It’s a ‘feeling' song that tries to convey the anger & annoyance of your inner thoughts. Thoughts that otherwise would be buried.”
“It’s one of my favourites to play live as it’s got that continuously driving rhythm, gathering like a storm. It seriously makes me want to pogo about the place.”
Mitchell’s team is rapidly growing, backed by a team of heavyweight representation— Pick & Mix MGMT alongside Swedish indie tastemaker label, Icons Creating Evil Art and X-Ray Touring. He has performed at some of Scotland’s most popular festivals such as T-In-The ParkBelladrumLinlithgow Folk Festival, and the Edinburgh Fringe. He performed live in 2021 with the esteemed Gabe CoulterStarsailor, and his close companion, Dylan John Thomas (Oslo, Hackney).
Murdo Mitchell’s new single ‘Lies’ will be available to stream from the 18th November 2022 via Icons Creating Evil Art.
