Swedish art pop artist Bonander (Ellinor Sterner Bonander) returns with Apathy, a powerful and cinematic single that tackles the most dangerous sentiment of our time: indifference. With broken beats, forest samples, shrill choirs, and cutlery percussion, Bonander crafts a sonic landscape where democracy slowly unravels while the world stands still.

– "It's a fuck you to apathy, says Bonander. I drew from quotes in the media—like the study showing it only takes 30% popular support for fascism to rise—how hatred is normalized in plain sight, and how many today feel too overwhelmed to even protest."

The song alternates between two perspectives: the cold pragmatism of authoritarian power, and the individual who watches in disbelief. Co-produced with Elias Ortiz Venegas and featuring choir vocals from Tusen Tungor, Apathy sets the tone for Bonander's upcoming album—an exploration of anger as fuel and resistance.

Since signing with Icons Creating Evil Art in 2017, Bonander has carved out her own lane in the dark alt pop landscape. With a background in jazz vocals and music production from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, she brings drama, experimentation, and feminist critique to everything she touches.

Apathy will be released August 26 on all digital platforms.
