Sweden's electro queen EMMON releases anticipated full-length album RECON after 8 years!

Sweden's electro queen EMMON, aka Emma Nylén, returned to the Electronic Body Music Scene after an 5 year long break in 2019. After releasing 4 stand alone singles under the working name "Under construction", Emmon is now back to reclaim her throne with brand new album "RECON", out on October 7. Dropping the single 'Prurebloods' featuring post punk icon Emanuel Åström from Agent Side Grinder, and 'Machines' during the summer and early autumn, she is now preparing her release party of the full-length with the applauded EBM festival BODYFEST in Stockholm on October 8th.

'RECON' is a routhless EBM-album, packed with thundering basslines and gritty synths, all coming together seamlessly under Emma's characteristically smooth soprano vocals. The industrial-club romanticism and pumping beat takes the listener on a journey through well thought out lyricism that carry a red thread throughout the 10 tracks. Emma goes on to explain: ”The new songs have become harder and got a darker costume. Musically, I went back to my creative roots and to the sound of  the 00's electroclash scene that Emmon was created and descends from. Mixed with progressive old school synth in a postmodern production that is primarily produced to be performed live.”

Returning to the stage after a 5 year long break in 2019 with several live shows planned when the first wave of the pandemic hit, Emmon's gig at SUBKULT this summer was received with great enthusiasm. Filling the dance floor to the brim with starry eyed (and black robed) synth enthusiasts, finally getting that long awaited taste of her new upcoming album, her performance was reviewed and celebrated by fans and media alike. HYMN recites the show and tells it's readers that: "The new material fills the dancefloor with heavy programmed basslines and hard hitting dance beats. The EBM-transformation is a very successful move and really gets the crowd going. But we also get some electro-clash classics such as "Lips on Fire",  and many need to fight back the tears when she covers Depeche Mode's "The Sun and the Rainfall", as a homage to the recently passed Andy Fletcher. After this festival highlight, I look forward to her oncoming full-length RECON even more."

New album "RECON" by EMMON is released on all major platforms via Icons Creating Evil Art on October 7th 2022.

More about EMMON:
The esteemed electro/dance project Emmon saw the light of day in 2001, originally created as an art project during Emma's studies at art school while experimenting in the sound lab. With her explosive one-woman shows and engaging DJ-gigs, she quickly took her place front and centre of the electroclash genre at alternative stages in Sweden, and entered the music industry by producing highly coveted remixes of famous Swedish acts such as The Knife, Melody Club & BWO. After several years of touring as part of the popular synthband Paris, her long-awaited and intensely hyped up solo album "The Art and The Evil" was released in 2007 on Wonderland Records. Since then, Emmon has been crowned Sweden's electro queen, released 4 full-leangth albums and completed numerous tours, club and festival performances.

Emma and her partner Jimmy Monell (The April Tears, producer of The Sounds debut album, Rein etc) paired up in 2010, producing Emmons latest albums together. Between 2014-2019, Emmon took a well-needed break to regain the drive and find the pleasure in creating music again. Her grand comeback, a gig with Nitzer Ebb at Slaktkyrkan in 2019, was received with great enthusiasm. Zero Magazine exclaimed; ”After 5 years of silence, Sweden's electroclash queen Emmon is back with new music”.

When the Covid pandemic suddenly struck EMMON had a tour all planned out and was one of the last to perform live in Stockholm in March 2020 just before the world closed down. However, the pandemic gave room to continue creating and recording new songs that have now taken the form of an 10-track-album named RECON, which will be released on October 7th via Swedish boutique label Icons Creating Evil Art.
