Satan Takes A Holiday release new single “I Can’t Stop Thinking About It” — featuring Shady Lady & the Malefactor and Danne McKenzie
Stockholm’s high-voltage rock trio Satan Takes A Holiday return with I Can’t Stop Thinking About It, out November 6th via Icons Creating Evil Art — a fierce, swaggering take on The Dirtbombs’ 1998 garage-rock classic, featuring Shady Lady & the Malefactor and Danne McKenzie.
Fresh off a successful Nordic tour, Satan Takes A Holiday keep the momentum going as they continue to roll out tracks from their forthcoming 2026 covers album, Covering Our Tracks. This time, drummer Danne McKenzie steps out from behind the kit and takes the lead vocal mic, channeling raw energy and Detroit grit in equal measure.
The band shares:
“We’re massive Mick Collins fans — both The Gories and The Dirtbombs are deeply embedded in our band’s DNA. So when we set out on this exciting covers project, paying tribute to one of garage rock’s all-time greats was a no-brainer. I Can’t Stop Thinking About It was an easy pick. We’d been looking for the right track to let Danne take the lead on vocals, and this one had everything: attitude, swagger, and effortless cool.
To take it up another notch, we brought in our friends from Shady Lady & the Malefactor. Shady Lady brought her undeniable energy, while the Malefactor — Stefan Brändström (Henry Fiat’s Open Sore, producer at Studio Dustward) — laid down his signature, legendary guitar vibrato.
If OP were a song — this would be it.”
The collaboration captures the unfiltered electricity of the original while injecting it with Satan Takes A Holiday’s unmistakable sonic DNA — gritty guitars, swaggering rhythm, and an infectious sense of danger.
Shady Lady & the Malefactor, fronted by Shady Lady (vocals/guitar) and Stefan Brändström (guitar/production), are a Stockholm-based act known for their razor-sharp mix of sleaze, punk, and dark glamour. The duo have released a 7”, a 12”, and a string of digital singles, with their debut full-length album due in early 2026 via Push My Buttons and Beluga Records.
I Can’t Stop Thinking About It follows Gettin’ Away with Murder (featuring Nicke Andersson of The Hellacopters, Imperial State Electric, Death Breath), and You're the One That I Want, marking the next chapter in the band’s ongoing exploration of the songs and artists that shaped their sound.
With previous praise from BBC 6 Music (including Iggy Pop), Classic Rock, Louder Sound, Rock Hard, and Sweden’s P3 and Bandit Rock, Satan Takes A Holiday remain one of Scandinavia’s most thrilling and unpredictable forces in rock.
