Ellen Benediktson confronts envy on the confessional track Jealousy. If WID4L yearned for reckless devotion, Jealousy turns introspective — exposing insecurity, ego and the lies we tell ourselves.

Following her last single WID4L, Ellen Benediktson shifts the spotlight inward with her next single, Jealousy, released April 10th. The new single confronts the dark, turbulent emotions that churn in all of us — envy, insecurity and feeling like everyone is passing you by

“I really want to genuinely celebrate other people’s success as much as I want them to celebrate mine. I get so embarrassed when I’m nagged by jealousy. It’s ugly. Something that I want the song to reflect both lyrically, visually and in the production”

With her signature mix of sharp self-awareness and emotional impulsivity, Ellen turns envy into something both vulnerable and defiant. Jealousy doesn’t glamorize the feeling — it dissects it. It captures the spiral of comparison, and ultimately the realization that scarcity is a lie.

The track continues to expand Ellen’s pop landscape with more complex instrumentation and influences from indie and alt-pop, setting the foundation for the upcoming EP and the emotional range within it.

WID4L — The EP

Out May 15th, WID4L expands Ellen’s emotional universe into a maximalist pop journey where every track revolves around the same theme: being emotionally impulsive. Recognizing your patterns, but still running right into them. From obsession and jealousy to self-irony and romantic self-deception, the EP explores the push and pull between mind and body.

“In a world that feels overwhelming, I become more self-aware than ever,” Ellen explains. “There’s nothing smart about acting on impulse, but it feels so good in the moment. When the world is burning, it feels even more necessary.”

Ellen explores new sounds on this EP with her core team of producers, building on Good Girl, creating both familiarity and surprise. Finding more influences in indie pop and electro-pop. With the EP’s title track and first single, she introduces the red blood that runs through the whole EP’s theme and visuals.

“A warning that pulls you in. I wanted the red on my hands to feel corporeal, like the emotions just spill out and can’t be washed away.”
