Alt-pop/Post-grunge artist CORRO is back with SHINIGAMI feat. Liam Alvarez (Deadlocked State and Crimson Vial) Released May 16th via Icons Creating Evil Art

Following the release of his genre-blurring EP Send Me to Hell, Swedish alt-pop/post-grunge artist CORRO returns with a fierce new collaboration: "SHINIGAMI", featuring Liam Alvarez, vocalist of Deadlocked State and former frontman of Crimson Vial. The single will be released May 16th through Swedish independent label Icons Creating Evil Art.

SHINIGAMI is more than just a single — it's a reunion. CORRO and Liam Alvarez have a long-standing creative relationship, having worked together across several earlier projects. Now, the two reunite in full force to deliver a track that blends CORRO’s signature raw emotion and punchy production with Alvarez’s distinct vocal energy and metalcore roots.

While CORRO’s recent work has explored indie-pop and melancholy ballads with collaborators like Ezekiel and Boy Destroy, this new single dives headfirst into darker, more aggressive territory. Drawing on the spirit of early 2000s post-hardcore and grunge, SHINIGAMI is packed with distorted guitars, high-energy drums, and a haunting melodic core — a sonic exorcism that reflects both artists’ struggles and resilience.

CORRO comments:
“SHINIGAMI really felt like coming home to doing what I used to during my band days, and getting to do that with Liam again just made it hit even harder.”

Since signing with Icons Creating Evil Art in 2019, CORRO has carved out a distinct voice in the alt-pop/post-grunge scene, balancing vulnerability and intensity with every release. His music has explored mental health, self-perception, and personal transformation — themes that remain central in SHINIGAMI, but with a sharpened edge.
